2 wheel racing returns to Circuit of the Americas with the 2016 MotoGP weekend. Action begins April 8th, 2016 and runs throughout the 3 day event.
Last year, Marc Marquez took his Repsol Honda to the winner's circle, beating out his competition by 2.3sec. However, his win wasn't without obstacles. After his primary bike showed concerns during qualifying, Marquez hopped over the wall & sprinted to his team's pit box to retrieve his backup bike. He then used the short time left to hit the track & not only grab pole position, but also shatter the track lap record. Laying down a 2:02.135 lap time, Marquez stayed the fastest at COTA, cutting the previous time of 2:02.773, which, he himself, set the previous year.
Will we see similar results this year?
